in this series, various recordings of the well-known song “(you make me feel) like a natural woman” are fed into a machine decomposing the recordings into pieces to be recombined into a new mash-up version. the overall structure of the song remains untouched, though. the result is a sort of sonic discourse analysis of the song’s myriad reiterations complicit in the reproduction of the heterosexual matrix.
